Keyword / Tags in Style

I'm trying to adapt the Annotated Chicago style to include the keywords next to the note but I cannot find the correct term / syntax to call up the keywords. Anyone know what it is or if this is possible?
  • while csl has a "keyword" variable, that is not mapped to any field in Zotero. There is no way I'm aware of to call tags at this time.
  • Hi Adamsmith,

Do you know if Zotero Keywords/tags are mapped to any CSL variable yet?

I am trying to export my zotero records into CSV/Excel.
At first I tried the customer CSL method which look great, except I cannot find a mapping for the tags item.

Should I rather use some other form of export.

    Many thanks,
    Daniel

  • Hi noksagt

Thank you for your prompt reply.
Does the link you sent contain the javascript code that actually implements/executes the CSL files? Is there anyway to modify the javascript to export the keywords/tags? :)

Alternatively is there another way to export from zotero in a flat file/csv format (i.e. row based), for easy import into excel?

    Many thanks,
    Daniel
  • This is starting to drift from the topic of the original thread & there are many other threads on CSV output, but:
Does the link you sent contain the javascript code that actually implements/executes the CSL files?
Sure. Per the file: "CSL: a class for creating bibliographies from CSL files"
Is there anyway to modify the javascript to export the keywords/tags? :)
In principle, this should be possible & you should feel free to try. It might be somewhat unlikely for the code to be changed in Zotero (there is a feature freeze for v.2, though this is a somewhat minor change) & there is a completely new citation processor that is being actively developed.

You can write your own translator code to do this or can export to an already supported format & turn that into CSV. There are probably stand-alone programs that could do this & Wikipedia lists programs that can export to CSV or OpenDocument spreadsheets.
  • Hello,

I guess it's still not possible to use tags within csl style descriptions?

    Thanks!

  • No, it is not. No plans to make this available as far as I know.
