Google Docs Error

Hello,
I've used Zotero for many years, but haven't needed it for a few months. Today, when I tried to cite using the Google Docs integration, I kept being hit with "Zotero experienced an error updating your document." when trying to insert a citation. I have never encountered this before.

I have updated Zotero Connector, the Zotero Desktop app, and even tried uninstalling/reinstalling everything. I have tried in multiple Test Google Docs and none of them work. I checked out the Troubleshooting page but nothing applied. I made sure "Google Docs Integration" was enabled in the Connector settings. I restarted Chrome, Zotero App and my computer.

I tested the Microsoft Word integration and thankfully that still works so I will use that for now, but I would love help with this as I love the Google Docs integration.

[JavaScript Error: "Exception: Service Documents failed while accessing document with id […]"]
Can you provide a Report ID from the Zotero Connector?

Hi dstillman, it's in the above post :) Report ID: 1812048505, Or did you mean something else?
  • No, that's from Zotero, not the connector.
  • Apologies, I did not realize there was an additional one in the Connector itself. It is Report ID: 1149108190
  • Does this go away if you disable the Google Docs Offline extension and reload Google Docs?
  • Just tried it and unfortunately didn't work! :(

What if you disable all other extensions? Again, be sure to reload Google Docs after disabling them. If that doesn't help, restart Chrome after disabling them.
  • I disabled everything except Zotero connector, restarted Chrome, and unfortunately still does not work :(
  • OK. This seems to be a failure from the Google Docs service — "Service Documents failed" — but @adomasven would have to say more.
  • @leejwy: In the meantime, you should try in a different browser if you haven't yet.
  • Thank you @dstillman. I tried Firefox and the Firefox Connector just out of curiosity, and it worked. I will use that for the meantime. I would still love to get the Chrome version working since that's my browser of choice! I will wait for @adomasven.
  • @leejwy Does integration work fine in a new document with Chrome?
