Drag and drop harvard reference to doc not working properly

Hi there,

I am new to zotero, and have had some trouble with what I guess is a basic function. I would like to include a full reference in a word document, and have watched the vid which seems to say that you can highlight a title of a book from the centre pane of the zotero window, and simply click and drag this into a word document. This should then appear as a full reference (as it would appear in a bibliography). Instead, my reference appears like this:

<div style="line-height:1.1em;margin-left:0.5in;text-indent:-0.5in;">

<p style="margin:0">Christina Shewell, 2009. <span style="font-style:italic;">Voice Work: Art and Science in Changing Voices</span> 1st ed., U.K: Wiley- Blackwell. <span class="Z3988" title="url_ver=Z39.88-2004&ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&rft_val_fmt=info%3Aofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Abook&rft.genre=book&rft.btitle=Voice%20Work%3A%20Art%20and%20Science%20in%20Changing%20Voices&rft.place=U.K&rft.publisher=Wiley-%20Blackwell&rft.edition=1&rft.aulast=Christina%20Shewell&rft.au=Christina%20Shewell&rft.date=2009"> </span></p>

</div>

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Cheers!
  • Do you have "Copy as HTML" selected in the Export pane of the Zotero preferences?
  • Hi Dan,

    Yes- just checked. I have 'copy as html' ticked. I have just unticked it, and now it works!! Thank you for your help!

    All the best,
