Just opened Zotero and was saving a link from the connector on edge at url https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/clc.4960200210
it seems that many of my attached pdf files are non-existent. No matter how many time I sync with zotero they seem to are lost.

Are you reporting a problem with saving or are you reporting a problem opening PDF attachments? Those don't have anything to do with one another.
In any case, Zotero didn't "lose" your PDFs. If you're not seeing PDFs, you likely added them on another computer and they haven't synced to this computer. See Files Not Syncing for instructions for debugging that and providing more information.
