Tabbed Interface

I often find it inconvenient to switch between the Zotero interface, the article I'm reading, and the many other things I'm doing on the web at the same time.

I would like to be able to:
1) isolate the Zotero interface to just one tab.
2) open Zotero files/screenshots/references from the Zotero interface into new tabs.
That way, I can dedicate one tab to the Zotero interface, and not have my files crowded out by the interface

    I meant to ask at the bottom of the post:

    Is this currently possible under preferences or settings?

    1) isn't possible afaik
    2) is possible using standard FF shortcuts: ctrl-click for new tab, shift-click for new window.

    I also would like the ability to have zotero open in one tab.

    Usually I open a separate window and run zotero there, maximized, but I'd rather have it in a tab.

    The main thread on this idea appears to be here. There has certainly been some positive discussion about this, it seems now mainly to be a matter of available developer time and priorities.

    There is a temporary workaround in the form of the Zoterename plugin that allows you to save a shortcut which opens a new FF window with Zotero maximized. See here, and explanation here.
