URL in APA 7th with books

I think this may have been mentioned but I haven't found a decent response. APA 7th does not ask for URLs for books. Despite ticking the "do not include URL" box and even trying to edit the CSL to remove the "access" tag (which works but also removes all DOIs for journals defeating the purpose) I cannot get my books in the reference list to stop adding URLs (often google.books or amazon). Any ideas?

You are incorrect. APA always asks for a DOI or URL if available. Google Books URLs are appropriate if the full text of the book is available there. Amazon links aren’t appropriate (despite some examples of them in the APA manual), so if you have any, you should delete those.
  • While the "basics" indicate that, references for a book do not appear to expect it and they tend to look awful. Any way to remove them in books nevertheless?
  • Sorry, missed the rest of your comment somehow. I see what you mean and appreciate the response. Manual deletion is the way to go eh?
  • Yes, you'll want to remove the URL from Zotero it you never want it cited. Lots of styles would cite URLs provided in the URL field.

I'm assuming these are items imported quite a while ago: I'm pretty sure the current Google Books and Amazon import will never include a URL.
  • Fair enough. Thanks folks.
