Zotero Web Library is not Matching App on my Computer

My zotero web library is correct (firefox) with 341 items. The plug in on my computer has 19 items and appears to be a sync from years ago. I need my web library to sync with my computer. Can someone guide me? I have uninstalled and reinstalled and tried several browsers.
  • thank you - but when I look at settings there is no preferences tab. my screen does not look like the one in the directions where i can adjust syncing options

  • Yes. All documentation and all discussion of "Zotero" are going to be about the desktop app unless they specifically refer to the web library.
  • I found the preferences. I am trying to figure out how to see if I am signed in to an old acocunt. directions on line show usernam and password under sync/preferences. I do not see that option. Where do I look for username and password?
  • I'm not sure what you mean. It will either show empty username and password fields or it will show the account that you've set it up to sync with. See the screenshots here:

  • No. If you want to provide a screenshot, you need to upload it somewhere and provide a public link to it.
  • unfortunately i dont know how to do that. On the screenshot you sent - are you on the sync tab or settings tab

  • You can upload to Dropbox, or if you can generate a share link from OneDrive, that would work.

    But you can see the screenshots on the linked page. It's the Sync tab — the tab is clearly highlighted in the screenshots, so I'm not really sure where your confusion is here.

  • I just sent it - thanks - im sure I am doing something wrong - but my screen does not look like the one you sent and I am on the sync tab. I am pretty sure the account is an old account - I must have set up a new one. I am uncertain how to get it to connect to my current web library since I do not get an option to look at my username and password and change it

    I don't know why you think it looks different — it looks exactly like the second screenshot in the linked documentation. As I said above, you would see either empty username/password fields or the account you've set up — you're seeing the latter. It shows a different username from the account you're posting from.

    If you want to sync with this account, you'd need to unlink the account and set up syncing again with this one. Note that, when you do so, Zotero will prompt you to delete all local data for the other account and replace it with the data you have online from this one.

    I unlinked and the username and password option came up. I relinked with the proper account and it worked. Thanks so much.
