ctrl-alt-c into google docs works, shift-click-drag doesn't

Hi all,

I've come across a strange problem in google docs. I am able to use ctrl-alt-c to add references, no problem. However, when I shift-click-drag a reference into google docs, it sets all inline citations inserted this way to #1. Clicking Zotero -> refresh doesn't update the reference numbers. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Allie

  • Ctrl-Alt-C is using Google Docs integration.

Shift-dragging is just using Quick Copy. That has nothing to do with Google Docs and would be the same with any text field you dragged to. You can't generate a bibliography from citations that way, since it's just copying and pasting text, and using a numeric style doesn't make sense, since there's no context.
  • thanks, dstillman. I had read somewhere that shift-dragging should work, but either they were wrong, or i mis-interpreted. thanks.

is this anything that could be made to work in the future? i find it more convenient to drag refs over to my writing, rather than having to search for them in the popup box...
