Migrating from one Zotero account to another,

edited September 15, 2020
Hello,

I created a new Zotero account using the new email address from my workplace. I want to migrate from my old Zotero account to this new account, so that I can store all my files via the institute subscription to Zotero that I my workplace has.

Can you please point out where I can find information on how to do this? Is it correct that I will have to 'export library' (from the File menu) and select notes and files?

Thank you very much!

Best,
Susie
  • Don't do that.

Delete the new account and just add your work email address to the old account.
  • Thank you for your reply!

I have now deleted the new account. In the Settings of my old account, should I delete the old email address, or just add the new email address?

    Best,
    Susie
  • Add the new address, and then delete the old one.
  • Hi!

Reviving a long-dormant discussion to confirm that the solution is still valid. I have a main Zotero account attached to my personal email address, but I now have access to unlimited Zotero storage through my university. I created a new Zotero account with the university email and was trying to figure out how to migrate my personal database to the new account.

But if I understand this thread, all I need to do is delete the new Zotero account with my university email address, add my university email address to my personal Zotero account (making that the primary email), and I should have the unlimited Zotero storage without needing to migrate anything?

    Thank you!

@gtouloumes: Correct (though it doesn't matter whether the address is the primary address).
