Zotero Connector Chrome not working for me

Hi there. I just downloaded the Zotero Connector extension for Chrome. When I open a PDF or webpage on Chrome, I see the Zotero Connector icon in the search bar where it should be, and the icon changes depending on whether the source I have open is a book, PDF, etc. However, when I click the button the save the source/file to Zotero, the file still isn't showing up in my Zotero library, or if it is it is without any of the bibliographic information and without the file (e.g. PDF) attached. What can I try to sort this out?

    Can you provide some example URLs you're trying?

    The data that's saved depends entirely on where you're saving from and, for attached files, whether you have access to the PDF. When saving a PDF directly, whether Zotero can retrieve metadata depends entirely on the PDF you're saving.

    Yes, for sure. This morning I tried this URL: https://reserves.library.carleton.ca/ares//ares.dll?Action=10&Type=10&Value=290489

    I’m not sure if you’ll have access to it because it’s made available through my university’s library. I have included a series of screenshots below to show you what keeps happening:

    1. The PDF icon is showing up, as it should, in the URL bar of my screen.

    2. When I hover my mouse over the icon it further confirms that it has access to this PDF and can save the file to Zotero.

    3. When I click the PDF icon it gives me this confirmation, making it look like it’s worked.

    4. But when I go into my Zotero library (the Zotero app was open all throughout this process), this is how it is saved (see red circles). No bibliographic information, no actual PDF—really nothing except for the correct date and time and the URL.

    I am confused because I used to use Zotero and this wouldn’t happen. Any idea what’s going on?
