Can I revert a .docx to scannable cites so I can import it in Scrivener?
Hi,
I'm in the process of finishing my PhD (yay!). I have an early draft of a chapter that I wrote several years ago that is saved in Word format (.docx). To make editing/using this chapter as fluid as possible in my current workflow, I would ideally like to import it into Scrivener with the footnotes as scannable cites.
Does anyone follow me here? Does it make any sense? Does it seem feasible?
Thanks a lot!
JF

1. If citations are in footnotes, convert them to an in-text format such as APA style (which format does not matter)
2. In Document settings, set the Format to "Bookmarks"
3. Save a copy of the file.
4. Open the copy of the docx file in Libre Office
5. In Document settings, change the format to "Reference Marks"
6. Save the file as a .odt file
7. Run the .odt file through ODF scan with "to marker" selected
