Missing Note after Syncing to Zotero Cloud

Hello, I have lost a note after I synced to Zotero. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to retrieve lost notes? Is this possible? Thanks!

    Syncing would never delete a note on its own, but it's possible you (or someone else with access to the library) deleted or moved it on another computer and that change was applied locally when you synced.

    Have you searched for it in Everything mode in the library root? Have you checked the trash?

    Hi, Thanks for your prompt response. Yes I've searched everything. I have never experienced this before. I worked on one computer, synced it to the cloud and then tried to pick up the note on another computer and it was empty. I went back to my first computer, the note was missing on this machine. I have also checked the bin in case I had mistakenly got rid of it. N

    Was it missing on the first machine, or empty there as well?

    Hi dstillman, I've found it in the unfiled items folder. I have no idea how it got there so I have copied the note and attached it to the bib record. Thanks - I'm still not sure how this happened. Thanks for your help though. N

    That just means you dragged it off the parent item by mistake.
