Google Chrome cannot download PDF and snapshot at the same time

Google Chrome on Mac system only downloads snapshot each time, PDF cannot be downloaded at the same time, you can only open the PDF in the browser and download it to Zotero

Which URL? -- PDF and Snapshot download are completely independent, so you're misdiagnosing the cause here (though the failure to get the PDF is likely a bug)

But it's saving a Journal Article item, not a Web Page item?

Does it list the PDF in the save popup with a red X, or is it not listing the PDF at all?

Can you provide a Debug ID from Zotero for a save attempt that doesn't retrieve a PDF?

I choose to save to zotero (embedded metadata), and then it lists the PDF in the save popup with a red X. I don not know why does this happen, i could download the same pdf in the past.

Could you run through these as they apply? https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
It should say "Save to Zotero (ScienceDirect)" when you're saving, not Embedded Metadata.

I had a try based on the page you sent to me, but i failed. My macOS Catalina system version is 10.15.6，google chrome version has updated to the latest one, zotero standalone (5.0.90-beta.1+7c201f5d5) and connector are downloaded from the office website, also the latest. If i click "download pdf" and open the PDF page of ScienceDirect, i can save it to zotero, but i cannot save the pdf and snapshot at the first page. Not only ScienceDirect but also CNKI are the same problem.

You mean the process of opening an article in ScienceDirect and click save to zotero? It is my college's vpn. I stay at home and i need vpn to visit scholar website.

Your university VPN uses a non-standard protocol for proxying resources. Zotero Connector relies on website URLs to figure out which translators can be used on a given page, but your university proxy obfuscates the URL of the journal. Most of the Zotero users' institutions use EZProxy, which has a standard proxy scheme which for your university with ScienceDirect would look something like:

https://www-sciencedirect-com.wvpn.upc.edu.cn/science/article/abs/pii/S0959652619327441

Unless you can configure your proxy to use a schema like the above Zotero won't be able to detect and properly translate journal websites.
