Save using connector to web library

I am trying to save items to the web library instead of the actual Zotero desktop application. When I save using the zotero connector for chrome, it saves to my desktop application and nothing on the web library. What should I do differently to fix this issue?

The Zotero Connector always saves to Zotero when it's open, and you should always have Zotero open when saving. You don't want to save directly to the web library unless you can't actually install Zotero on a given computer.

To automatically upload items from Zotero to the web library, all you need to do is set up syncing.

I am migrating from Mendeley, is there a possibility to edit on cloud, like Mendeley for the synced documents. Also, can we control what to sync and what not to? Thanks in advance.
  • Yes, you can edit items in the web library on this site if you use Zotero syncing, but if you’re on your own computer, you’ll always want to use the Zotero program, which provides much more functionality than the web library. When people refer to “Zotero”, they’re almost always referring to the desktop app.

You can choose whether to use syncing at all, and you can choose whether to sync files, but you can’t sync only part of a library.
