CSL STYLE ERROR: reference with no printed form.

Hello :-)

I am using a "self-made" citation style which I have to use and whenever I try to cite a source in Word (so far, seems to only happen with books), it shows the error above.

I have searched this forum but not found any solution that worked for me.

I am saving my literature on One Drive in a folder (independent of Zotero).

Does this error mean that Zotero needs the PDF of the cited document in the "storage" folder?

I am very grateful for help or tips!
  • It could be a few different things.
In order to help, please upload your code to HasteBin or PasteBin and share the link. :)

    This should work I hope.

Thank you so much for helping me! :)
  • So your style currently is only set to show the “Alt-Publisher” macro for books (and nothing else).
  • Oh no, I don't know how I did this.. Could anyone fix this please?
Finding out how to write this would take me forever like last time I tried it... :(

    For books, I need:

Last name in italic letters, First name in italic letters/Last name in italic letters, First name in italic letters (etc., for each author of the book), title, city (publisher) year, page numbers.

    I'd be so grateful!! :)
  • That style is very messed up and you will run in to other problems later on, I'd say, but to fix that isse you can delete lines 360-362.
Then the book is dealth with in the "else" part and prints out correctly.
  • I would recommend starting over from a working original style. What style are you starting from, and what changes are you trying to make?
