Upgrade StorageError exporting collection

I have a collection in My Library with 113 items. I right click on the collection, Export collection, select "Zotero RDF", tick "Export notes", don't tick "Export Files", click OK.
I choose the name of the collection with extension .rdf, and the ~/Downloads directory in Ubuntu, where I know I have permissions. CLick OK.
I get the error message "An error occurred while trying to export the selected file."
An .rdf file has been created, but it only contains
