trouble using zotero in google docs

the zotero add-on is already installed, and first time I pressed it I was asked to allow communication with my zotero library, and so I did.
However, since then, pressing the Z button does not initiate anything.
All assistance will be highly appreciated!

    Check through all Zotero windows and see if you have a citation dialog or such open in the background. If you do not, restart your browser and refresh the Google Docs tab, then try using the plugin again. Make sure you look through Zotero windows if you do not see any Zotero citation interface appear after interacting with the plugin in Google Docs.

    Thanks, I did all suggestions, and it is still the same.
    Might that be an issue of zotero (or firefox) versions?

    Oh, I messed up the instructions above, sorry. You should restart Zotero and refresh the Google Docs tab.
