Downloading Zotero for Chromebook 360

Hi,

I've been trying to download Zotero on my HP Chromebook 360 but once the download is completed and I select it, a notification pops up saying that it isn't compatible and I need to download Zotero via Google app store.

Is it not possible to download Zotero on a Chromebook via the download link on the website?

AFAIK Zotero only runs on Linux (full fat, not ChromeOS), Windows, and MacOS, so I think you'll be out of luck, unfortunately.

No, you can run Linux apps (including Zotero's Linux app) on modern Chromebooks running ChormeOS. See here for how: https://www.computerworld.com/article/3314739/how-to-use-linux-apps-on-chrome-os.html

That's very cool, I wasn't aware Google had improved ChromeOS so much. Sorry for the misinformation @n.khan24!

@bwiernik Thank you for the response and for sharing the page link. I've tried both options mentioned from the page, but I'm still unable to download Zotero's Linux app via either options?

Download the Zotero linux app from here: https://zotero.org/download

@bwiernik I initially tried the top link you sent and because that wasn't working I started to look for alternatives.

But I'll give the second link a go.

What do you mean "not working"? That is the official download link for Zotero.

It says that it isn't compatible and I should try and download Zotero from Google app store.

Which I tried doing, but it seems Zotero doesn't exist on Google app store.

That isn't a message Zotero would give. It must have been inserted by Google. You need to download the Zotero .tar.bz2 file at the linux link (e.g., https://www.zotero.org/download/client/dl?channel=release&platform=linux-x86_64&version=5.0.87) and then install that .tar.bz2 file.
