Upgrade StorageAlphabetical order does not work in Word document

I have to use the "Medicine and Science in Sports & Exercise" citation, which actually shows the references in the reference list alphabetical, but it does not work in my word document. I also tried other citations styles which also do not sort the reference alphabetical.

While the guidelines state the bibliography should be sorted alphabetically, what actual papers (in .pdf) do is sort them by appearance.
Very often guidelines are out of date and we develop the styles mostly based on properly type-set papers.
So the style is doing this correctly.
