ACM article saves as Document

This discussion was created from comments split from: Zotero Connector's translator for ACM seems broken.
  • It seems to still not be completely fixed. Example article: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3230742

When saving this item using the Zotero Connector in Firefox, the item type is set to "Document" instead of "Journal Article" and the journal information is not saved. For the article that @azerrima shared everything appears to be saved correctly.

This is unrelated, so I've moved this to a new thread.

This is a complicated issue with Zotero's translator for certain pages on the new ACM site. I've opened an issue. Until this is fixed, if you run into this, to get the best metadata you can save the Document item as well as the BibTeX version (by generating a BibTeX citation on their site, copying it to the clipboard, and using File → "Import from Clipboard…" in Zotero), change the Document item to Journal Article, and then select both items, right-click, and merge the two.
  • I see, thank you for suggesting the workaround.
  • This is now fixed. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Translators in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences.

    Thanks for reporting.
  • Thank you for fixing it so quickly!
