add DOI field to software (and other resource)

As DOI becomes increasingly used to create permanent identifiers, it would be useful to have a dedicated field for software as well (to record resources like https://vcs.etrap.eu/tracer-framework/tracer, for instance or all the zenodo-records). Any plans to add this or allow user modifications of fields and resource types?

    DOI for all items is planned for a future version of Zotero, I believe. If you search for the forums for other more common item types like book you will see answers related to this.

    But for now you can always add any field manually in Extra in the format DOI: 10.xxxx/xxxx
