[JavaScript Error: "Error(s) encountered during statement execution: unable to open database file [QUERY: DROP TABLE IF EXISTS tmpSearchResults_y3AdmJrH] [PARAMS: ] [ERROR: unable to open database file]" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js" line: 664}]
Is there a reason you tried to do this? An RDF file isn't a backup and shouldn't be used as one. If you have a proper backup of your previous Zotero data directory, you should put that back into place.

The error you're getting means that Zotero isn't able to open your database. This could be due to security software interfering with Zotero (are you running any?) or something wrong with the file permissions in the Zotero data directory.

There've been a couple recent reports of this, so it's possible something changed in some third-party software that's triggering this for some people.
  • Yes, I did because I had some troubles with Word and Zotero, so I decided to delete MS Office and Zotero and start again from the scratch. Was not a good idea =). Then I installed both again and had thought I could do a backup with an rdf data.

Now the interesting thing is that in word zotero can cite all the documents but can not generate the biliography. And the documents are not visible in zotero,

    what shall I do?
  • There are two separate issues here.

The first is that you don't want to reimport your library from RDF, which, among other things, will break all links to your library from existing word processor documents, so you should restore from a proper backup of the Zotero data directory if you have one.

The second is that you're getting the above error, and to debug that see what I wrote above.
  • I changed it like you mentioned it in the first message (C\users\my name\Zotero).
Unfortunately there is no backup, at least I do not know if I did it.

Now if I open Word, I recieve a message at the beginning where is written that word can not open the template at (c\users\my name\AppData\...\Zotero.dot).

    How can i fix that?

I'm not sure what you mean here. I was referring to restoring that directory from a backup. So what exactly did you change?
Now if I open Word, I recieve a message at the beginning where is written that word can not open the template at (c\users\my name\AppData\...\Zotero.dot).
    What's the exact message?

What version of Word is this?
  • I changed the location back to the default location.

    Office 365
this document template cannot be opened by word, (C\Users\name\AppData\...\Zotero.cot)

Is it possible that I have to change the location to the one word is looking for and should be then the connection restored?
  • If you're using Office 365, Zotero.dot shouldn't be involved at all, only Zotero.dotm.

Go to your Word Startup folder, delete Zotero.dot and Zotero.dotm, and restart Word, and make sure all traces of Zotero are gone.

Then close Word, go to Cite → Word Processors in the Zotero preferences, and reinstall the Word plugin, and see if it appears in Word.
  • thanks a lot for your support, I´m sorry to answere you very late but I could fix the problem, I had to reboot my pc and started everything from the scratch, so everything is working now how it should,

    best wishes and thnx again
