(author, year b) .... (author, year a)

J'ai plusieurs références avec les mêmes auteurs pour des articles publiés dans la même année. Comment faire pour afficher les indices a, b, c .... dans le texte et dans la partie bibliographie?
Merci

Zotero will add these automatically as you add references to your document in Word/LibreOffice. If they aren’t appearing, what style are you using?

Feel free to write in French
  • It's not done automatically, what is done is for example for Demerouti et al. (2011)
I have for one publication : E. Demerouti et al. (2011)
and for another Evangelina Demerouti et al. (2011)

I'm using : Administrative science quarterly
  • You should edit your Zotero records so that each author's name is exactly the same. In your example, E. Demerouti should be edited to Evangelina Demerouti. Of course, If E. Demerouti is not the same person as Evangelina but might be Edward Demerouti you should not make the edit.

For Zotero to properly format same-year items by the same author it is necessary that the author names are exactly the same.
  • Sorry, my explanation wasn't clear enough:
I have several example like the one below in my bibliography :
    (1) Demerouti, E., Bakker, A., De Jonge, J., Janssen, P., & Schaufeli, W. (2001). Burnout and engagement at work as a function of demands and control. Scandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health, 27(4), 279-286. www.jstor.org/stable/40967145
    (2) Demerouti, E., Bakker, A. B., Nachreiner, F., & Schaufeli, W. B. (2001). The job demands-resources model of burnout. Journal of Applied Psychology, 86(3), 499–512. https://doi.org/10.1037/0021-9010.86.3.499

How can I have both in the text and in the references list : (Demerouti et al. 2001 a) and (Demerouti et al. 2001 b)

    I hope that is clearer.
    Thanks
  • Administrative Science Quarterly is based on APA style. When there are two different authors with the same surname, the initials of the author names are added for disambiguation (e.g., John Smith and Robert Smith would be shown as J. Smith and R. Smith).

That’s what happening here. In your case, the issue is that you have the name of Evangelina Demerouti entered inconsistently in your library. Sometimes you have the full name in your library, sometimes just the initial. Zotero doesn’t know that these are the same person, so it applies the style’s disambiguation rules thinking they are different people.

To address this, edit the items in your library so that they all give the full name—“ Evangelina Demerouti”.
  • OK, so I did it for all the references, with same informations for the authors.
This is the result of my example :
(Evangelia Demerouti et al., 2001; E. Demerouti et al., 2001).
Which is inconsistent, because it couldn't be distinguished in the references list.

    How can I do?

The E. Demerouti reference is probably disconnected from your Zotero library (e.g., if you deleted a duplicate item instead of merging it). Go to the citation showing E. Demerouti, open the Add/Edit Citation window in Word. Click on the item’s blue bubble in the citation window. Do you see a button that says “Show in My Library” or similar? If so, click the button and edit the item. If not, the citation isn’t connected to your library. Delete the citation and reinsert it from your library.
  • Ok
    I re tried (disconnected references).
I works, differently from (author, year a) and (author, year b)
    But it works.

    Thanks
