Encrypting local data base

Is there a plan to enable a password / encryption for the local SQLITE database? Just to have some sense of protection.

Thanks.

  • You can place the database file in an encrypted filesystem, at the operating system level, without any change to Zotero.
  • I am really looking for carrying the database in a pen drive and a password protected SQLITE database would be handy.
  • That would require a adding a non-free, enhanced version of SQLite to Firefox. In other words, it's not going to happen—at least by us.

Use an encrypted filesystem on your pen drive, or keep your Zotero files in a password-protected archive (without a trivial known cracking method, if possible) and uncompress before using—automated when you start Firefox, even. You have plenty of options that aren't at the SQLite level.
