Zotero revealed my ip

I installed Zotero latest version but when I connect with VPN it revealed my IP address. I connected with openvpn but still have same error. I read a guide on openvpn but there is no any solution of it. This is the guide link https://www.purevpn.com/what-is-vpn/protocols/openvpn

What do you mean by "revealed my IP address"? Do you mean that Zotero made direct network connections instead of going through the VPN?

Zotero uses the system proxy settings by default, using the same mechanism as Firefox. If you want to use something other than the system proxy settings, you can change those settings in the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the Zotero preferences.

I mean when I was trying to access a website it show me a real ip address.
