Zotero-20b61s-troubles-with-citations-created-with-20b5-in-openoffice-3.1
In Open Office 3.1, Zotero 2.0b6.1 is not processing well the citations created with Zotero 2.0b5, and this even causes OpenOffice to crash.
1. I just installed 2.0b6.1 in Firefox 3.0.11, Ubuntu 9.0.4. Everything went OK.
2. I then went to work in OpenOffice 3.1, Zotero plugin 2.0a2. Citations and bibliography, and the edition of them, work OK when I create new documents.
3. The big trouble began when I tried to edit the citations in documents created with Zotero 2.0b5 and the same plugin OOo 2.0a2:
a) when I edit the old citations, it takes too much time for the Add/Edit window of Firefox to disappear once I have made the corrections, and for OpenOffice to appear again. Often, after a long wait, OpenOffice even crashes.
b) The old citations are sometimes not recognized at all, or other citations next to them are instead called for edition. Back in the OOo document, I often get (instead of an edited citation) the old citation plus a copy or more of it.
4. I removed the Zotero 2.0a2 extension an installed it again, but the mentioned problems remain.
Is the 2.0a2 extension for OpenOffice not working well with the new Zotero 2.0b6.1 or there is only a problem with my settings or other ?
I will appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

The error report ID is 563122816
Would you please take a look at it? Many tanks.
But it remains the following:
when there are multiple citations in the same footnote, Zotero recognizes only 1 of them (the first I choose to edit). The others always send me to edit that one, so that I cannot edit them with its record in Zotero.
It becomes really annoying to try to edit the citations manually, since I am writing a document including lots of footnotes with multiple citations.
I have sent an error new error report: 326643535
Again many thanks for your attention
Besides, I have noticed that in footnotes, you have to insert the citation before a space between the citation and the text following it; otherwise, that text behaves as if its is part of the citation.
Here also, as in Ubuntu,
- "when there are multiple citations in the same footnote, Zotero recognizes only 1 of them (the first I choose to edit). The others always send me to edit that one, so that I cannot edit them with its record in Zotero"
- if I edit the citation, all the other citations in the footnote get the same entry !
- and also the text that you enter (in the footnote) following a citation become part of the citation. If I edit the citation, this text is automatically deleted !!
This is really annoying: you can inadvertengly delete a big chunk of text that has laboriously been thought and is difficult to rewrite.
I suspect there may be a problem with the plugin.
Could you please suggest what I can do to correct these problems?
I have just installed the plug-in and it's working OK as well in the main text as in the footnotes of OpenOffice: there is no problem with the edition of the citations any longer.
I must however mention this:
when a citation is inserted completely aligned to the left (in the main text or in the footnote), any empty space that is then introduced before the citation becomes a part of the citation (there is no problem, on the contrary, with the empty spaces introduced immediately after the citation). I would like this could be changed in next releases.
Many thanks again.
