Advanced Search: "Attachment file type"/"is not"/"pdf" - wrong matching logic

Advanced Search: "Attachment file type"/"is not"/"pdf" returns all items that have attachments other than "pdf" regardless of whether they also have a "pdf" attached

    I'm not saying this is right and it's certainly not intuitive, but you can get get what you want by checking both the Show only top level items _and_ Include parent and child item checkbox.
