Folks, what _exactly_ happens that it no longer works? What are you seeing? Is it giving error messages? This isn't a plugin that is maintained by an active member of the community, and no one is going to be able to update it without more information.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous questions. I see now that they are actually asking about the exact nature of the problem, and not just general user comments.
The add-on installs fine and is enabled, but simply fails to minimize or close Zotero to the system tray. It's not just a missing icon either; there is no Zotero process running at all after I hit close. There are no error messages or anything, but I'd be happy to help debug anything if you or anyone else has any ideas that might shed more light.
Running on Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon, Linux Kernel 5.0.0-37
I can confirm it with Ubuntu Mate 18.04. Firetray just not functioning. No error messages, Zotero just starts at full window. I was not able to implement kdocker workaround, but it's probably my fault.
UPDATE 2020-1-23: Not perfect. It doesn't work any more, when some other windows are open.
UPDATE 2020-2-12: Solved by changing (in about:config) "extensions.firetray.hides_last_only" to true "extensions.firetray.hides_single_window" to false
It works now, but settings can't be saved for Firetray and to make visible Zotero window for inserting citation or any other window I need to push additionally Firetray icon in taskbar. Ubuntu Mate 18.04, the most recent Zotero and Firetray.

1. Start zotero
2. Kill zotero with the command: pkill zotero
3. Start zotero again
Now, firetray should work. After you quit zotero normally, you need to the do the above procedures again.
P.S. I use the latest firetray from https://github.com/Ximi1970/FireTray
I don't know it is the problem of zotero or the problem of firetray. Hope it can be fixed by the developer.
Check Firetray 0.6.5 from
https://github.com/Ximi1970/FireTray/releases
P.S. You need to modify the install.rdf file.
It works now. I didn't realized that Firetray is updated.
Thank you!
https://github.com/Ximi1970/FireTray/commit/94a4a3f294a6a469fa5c2472f7333983490458d0
and it works for me up to now.
