Zotero is updating your document

Dear all,

I'm currently writing my thesis on google doc using Zotero to manage my bibliography,
However, since 1 hour ago, when I wanted to add a new reference Zotero started to "updating my document" like it usually does. But this time, It is taking a while because Zotero is checking every single space in my document (not only the one it put in the reference calling).

So I wondering, what happen?

    If you have added a _lot_ of citations already to your document, then Zotero can start to slow down. This is worse for Google Docs than for Word or LibreOffice, unfortunately.

    To speed things up, you can disable automatic reference updating in the Document Preferences window in the Zotero menu in Google Docs. You can also split your document into separate documents for each chapter, then re-combine them once you have finished writing.

    So I disable automatic reference updating, and now it works perfectly fine again. But, I'll split the document too.

    After you re-combine the document at the end, click the Refresh option in the Zotero menu and let it update. That might take a long time, but let it run (maybe eat dinner in the mean time).
