Adding linked file with modifier keys not working on macOS

    Adding files as linked files doesn't seem to be working.

    I'm using Zotero v5.0.80 on the Mac (OS 10.15.2) and when I drag files with the Cmd + Option keys held down, a copy of the documents is written into Zotero's local storage.

    I'm not even trying to use zotfile at this point - just trying to add a few PDF documents as file links without copying the PDF into Zotero's storage.

    (You might need to pause briefly until the Zotero comes to the front for the modified keys to take effect.)

    Thanks, I can confirm it works when I do this - even if the app window is not overlapping finder window (i.e. already "in front") - effectively waiting for the focus to change to Zotero before releasing the cmd+option+drag.
