MS Word loses current position when adding citation

Using Word 365 on Win 10 machine. When I press add citation, Word moves a few pages up. I don't know why that's happening. The citation is added to the correct place. But I have to scroll down manually to resume my work.

    Are you citing with endnotes? Which citation style? How long is the document? Do you have tracked changes that are not accepted in the document? Can you reproduce this in a new document?

    Style: Griffith College Harvard
    Document length: 2000 words
    Tracked changes: yes there are unaccepted tracked changes and comments.
