Urgent: Word plugin of Zotero is unresponsive

Hi.

When I try to add a citation in Word via de Zotero plug in, nothing happens; it's unrespinsive. Zotero itself is responsive, I can add new references via Google Chrome etc. I get no error in any way, just nothing pops up.

Can anyone help me please? I am currently urgently writing something..

Did you try restarting Zotero and Word? When you click a button in Word did you try looking through Zotero windows to make sure the citation dialog isn't behind other windows? Which OS and version of Word is this?

Hi,

I tried restarting Zotero and Word, buth neither helped. I looked for extra Zotero tabs, but none are there, only the main Zotero window. OS is Microsoft Windows 10 and latest version of Word.

Can you provide a Report ID from Zotero?

I downloaded Mendeley as well as I thought this would solve my reference managing problem. However, the Mendeley Word plug-in causes Mendeley to crash as well. Maybe the problem lies in the newest Microsoft update?

If nothing helps, try running both Zotero and Word as administrator to see if it fixes the issue temporarily.

Nothing helps...
I have a company laptop, I can't run it as administrator unfortunately..

Security restrictions could be the source of this. Generally when you have a problem like this it indicates a problem with permissions, but people have been haunted with this problem for years and it seems that the only reliable solution is to create a new user profile in Windows. You will probably have to speak to your IT for that.
