Problems with WorldCat Discovery translator (Cornell)

Hi: at Cornell, we switched to WOrldCat Discovery for our local catalog last summer, and the Zotero translator no longer works. Our catalog url is https://newcatalog.library.cornell.edu/. I'm assuming that other libraries were forced to make the same change recently and are quite probably having similar issues.

Would it be possible to have the translator updated to allow for basic importing?

Hi Jim. I think you can fix this on your end. You still have unAPI enabled for individual items (e.g. https://newcatalog.library.cornell.edu/catalog/3098597 ) and they import fine. It just also needs to be enabled for the results list and things will look fine.

Zotero does support WC discovery, but doesn't recognize Cornell as an instance of that -- but the unAPI will get you better data anyway.

Thanks for your reply to Jim. Just so I'm clear, Zotero should be supporting WorldCat (for instance: https://cornell.on.worldcat.org/search?queryString=dog food&fq=&dblist=638&qt=sort&se=nodgr&sd=desc&qt=sort_nodgr_desc#/oclc/48958331) but for some reason isn't identifying the Cornell WorldCat connection in order to pull the citation? Do you know if this is something we need to pursue with OCLC/WorldCat support?

But in the end you're saying that the data coming from our Blacklight Catalog (newcatalog.library.cornell.edu) is better/more complete if we can get unAPI enabled for the results list?

Ah sorry, I didn't see the Worldcat discovery instance so was confused -- thatt's working for me in Zotero. It isn't on your end?

But yes, the blacklight/unAPI metadata will very likely be better (I also think it's a much nicer catalog...)

We've had reports from patrons that they can't get WCD to save to Zotero as a citation, not as a webpage. My personal experience is that I can get it to work on my laptop, but not on my desktop but can't figure out why. Both machines are using the same OS, and versions/builds of Chrome and the extension.

Debug output from the Chrome connector for a pageload of the WCD catalog that results in a website icon would be helpful:

It works reliably for me.

After trying a couple of times, I'm getting an error when I try to submit the output - HTTP request to https://repo.zotero.org/repo/report?debug=1 rejected with status 0

If you're not able to submit the output, you can click View Output, copy the output to a text file, zip the text file, and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
