Library catalog records and permalinks for books

Hi,

I use library catalog RERO Explore (https://explore.rero.ch/fr_CH/ge) with Zotero connector. But with APA style (6th), I notice that the URL (permalink actually) appears in the reference, while the editor and the place of edition doesn't appear. If I delete the URL in Zotero, these two last ones appear. Why ? How to make it ignore the permalink ?

APA 6th edition specifies that the publisher and publisher place should be omitted if there is a DOI or URL. The Zotero style is doing APA correctly.

Yep, but this URL is just a permalink to the library catalog and not an access to the book itself. Is there something we can do ou should I just delete URL everytime I use the library catalog?

You should delete those URLs. Where are you importing from? Those types of URLs shouldn’t get saved. Can you give a sample URL?

I use Zotero connector (Firefox). Here is a book I tried to import :

http://data.rero.ch/01-R008772145/html?view=GE_V1

When I create bibliography with APA style, here is the result :

Olivier, C. (2018). Derrière les murs : Surveiller, punir, réinsérer ? : la place du travail social en prison. Consulté à l’adresse http://data.rero.ch/01-R008772145/html?view=GE_V1

But if I delete URL, i got :

Olivier, C. (2018). Derrière les murs : Surveiller, punir, réinsérer ? : la place du travail social en prison. Toulouse: Erès.

You could try contacting the library. They currently serve RIS to Zotero via unAPI that includes
UR - http://data.rero.ch/01-R008772145/html?view=GE_V1

That line should be removed or turned into L1 - http://...

We just moved the link to the library record from RIS field UR to RIS field L1 as you suggested it.

Thanks Nicolas for the terrifically fast response. This imports correctly now with the library permalink as an attachment (and will show up correctly in citations)
