Problem Installing Zotero 2 Beta in Firefox for Mac

I have installed Zotero 2 Beta on two PC's, in both cases in Firefox 3, and in both cases without a hitch. But my main computer is a MacBook Pro with the latest operating system and Firefox 3. I installed Zotero on it, and I ran into a problem. First, while I could use Firefox's tools menu to set Zotero's preferences, Zotero itself would not function. I could not get the window to open, despite its showing in the same place as in the PC versions of Firefox. Second, with Zotero installed, I could not post anything to Facebook. Data entry in the Facebook posting window would only show one line and when I tried to click "Share" nothing would happen. Remove Zotero, and Facebook operated normally. Has anyone had such a problem? If so, how have you solved it? I do have the Zotero plug-in for Word 2008 and that seemed to install without a problem, although one does not see it in Word. I did try to go backwards to Zotero 1, but I cannot do that because, as Zotero informs me, my database is not compatible with that earlier version. Any help and/or advice?
  • Data entry in the Facebook posting window would only show one line and when I tried to click "Share" nothing would happen. Remove Zotero, and Facebook operated normally.
We've never heard of anything like this being caused by Zotero. Have you tried disabling all other extensions?
  • I have now experimented with various combinations of extensions. I think that I discovered the conflict. There is an add-in called "Split Browser" and when that is enabled, Zotero cannot open its window. Having removed it, Zotero seems to work fine.
    Thank you
