How do you manually edit references in Zotero

I have saved a pdf to Zotero, but none of the correct information e.g. author, etc. is there. I want to add this information in Zotero itself. How do I edit the reference?
I'm running the 5.0.76 version on a Mac.

    Right click on the PDF item and choose Retrieve Metadata for PDF. That will retrieve any available metadata for the item. You can then edit any field by clicking on it and typing.

    In general, the best way to add items to your library is using the Save to Zotero button from your web browser on the publisher webpage:

    Right-click --> Create Parent item and then fill out the information manually.
