RTF/ODF-scan is no longer working

    My RTF/ODF-scan is no longer working. It worked fine with another test document I did a month or two ago. Today I created a new LibreOffice ODT doc with dummy text and copy/pasted {bracketed} citations from my Zotero standalone. It would not allow me to drag them into the doc, so I used "shift-com-C" to copy and paste them. (Mac user here.) I then ran the scan. It converted all the {bracketed} citations to inline bibliography notes, each highlighted in gray. It would not create footnotes or endnotes when I tried different biblio styles. Where am I going wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
