import XML from Endnote

Hi, I'm confused whether or not I can import references from Endnote. Here it describes how to save the library as XML : https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote

Yet her the Endnote XML is described as non-supported format

https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/data_formats#endnote_r_xml

When I try to import the XML file into Zotero I get an error stating that the format of the file is not supported.

Can someone help me finding a way to import from Endnote?
  • Endnote XML is supported (the second page you link to hasn't been updated for years).

    Could you open the XML file exported from Endnote with a text editor, copy the first ~25 lines, paste them to hastebin.com , click the "save" icon in the top right and provide the URL here?

    Thanks for your reply. Does this code make it more clear?

    Yes, that's definitely not what we understand as Endnote XML -- it's an Elsevier XML schema that I've never seen used for bibliographic exchange (see https://www.elsevier.com/authors/author-schemas/elsevier-xml-dtds-and-transport-schemas )

    How exactly are you generating that?
  • thanks for your reply! It is something I received and not generated myself, so I will ask for a different XML and not this type. Hope it will work out then.
