does zotero readjust for editing of a work after citations have been made

if one edits a work after itations have been made, will zotero be able to make the necessary adjustments to citation numbers

Edit how? If you delete citations or move them around, then Zotero will update the citation numbers when you press Refresh.

Or when you add a new citation to your document.
