Zotero not syncing fully from cloud, but registers in desktop as complete


I am using a Zotero group and the group owner shared 7910 items to the group. Online, all 7910 items are showing, but only 7473 are syncing down to my desktop application. The sync button in the application is registering as if everything is complete (clicking it does not solve the problem). Not sure what to do. Any suggestions?
