"Retrieve Metadata from PDF" does nothing

    I have the same problem lately, with an up to date version (5.0.66), and with Zotero having no barriers to Internet access. Namely, when I import an item by drag&dropping its PDF into Zotero, nothing happens whereas normally an item was created based on the metadata. Also manually choosing the "Retrieve Metadata from PDF" option does nothing.

    Have you tried restarting Zotero?

    Can you provide a Debug ID for an attempt that fails?

    Ha, hadn't thought of the restarting panacea - turns out to've been enough in this case.

    The problem was fixed by installing a new version of zotero
