How can I stop the synchronization within my library

In my library are two indentical folder. I copied the content of the one folder into another folder because I need nearly the same content but want to change them differently to illustrate different networks.
Now the problem is that as soon as I change the content of the one folder I change the content of the other folder automatically. I searched in forums, on the internet and in my setting but cannot find anything to stop this synchronization.
Can someone please solve this problem for me.
