I think they just upgraded the citation requirements. Anything more than 3 authors is (XX et al., 2018)

adamsmithI'm not seeing that in the instructions. What section of the linked page are you referring to? In the journal I'm seeing anything with 3 authors or more with et al.

LiborAI think, the problem is that the current style template uses 4 authors for et al. instead of 3 authors. For example in this article https://apsjournals.apsnet.org/doi/pdf/10.1094/PHP-06-18-0036-RV you can find Van der Vlught example (Van der Vlught et al. 2007) but current style produce produce (van der Vlught, Verbeek, and Bonants 2007)
