Editing creator field

I have imported all my PDFs into Zotero and the "creator" field has the original name of my files(numbers and/or codes). I would like to edit it to have author's names to ease my future searches. Is there any way to do that?

    bianchic - are you using Zotero 2.0 beta? If you are, you can retrieve the metadata for all your PDFs and get not just author's names but full bibliographic information automatically from Google Scholar (I assume your PDFs are published papers/articles). I believe you will need to enable PDF full-text indexing from the search tab in preferences for this to work.

    The "Creator" field in the middle pane, if that's what you're referring to, is auto-generated from the authors/editors/etc. in the right-hand pane.
