Zotero on MacOS: "Zotero" would like to access your calendar

I've installed Zotero on MacOs and I'm trying to change the default storage folder (not sure whether this is related) and I get a popup saying "Zotero would like to access your calendar". What should I make of this?

Oh and now a popup with the same, but for contacts.

That would be very strange, and not something anyone has ever reported. Are you saying that happens with a standard install, with no extensions? I'd guess that you've installed something, somewhere, that's causing this behavior, but I couldn't tell you what that would be. It's also possible that you somehow ended up browsing to protected folders in ~/Library.

Fresh install, no extensions. I haven't been able to replicate it after a reinstall. This is a pristine machine just two days old, not much has been installed on it yet.

When I look in the privacy panel, Zotero is there. Strange, but I haven't been able to reproduce it.

No, this was before the modification.

In which sections? Contacts and Calendar? (You definitely wouldn't want to say yes to either of those, since they're not necessary and shouldn't be asked.)

If you want to debug it further, you can reset those entries (tccutil reset AddressBook, tccutil reset Calendar).

That cleared them out indeed, but I've cmd-quited Zotero and restarted, and of course now it doesn't ask for it.
