Zotero damage a Chinese PDF paper

I donwloaded a paper from http://www.cnki.com.cn/Article/CJFDTotal-WJFZ200808012.htm. When I view the document in Zotero, I found out the alphabets (not Mandarin) are screwed or invisible.

Chrome is able to preview the PDF document without a problem. And I also tried to open the PDF from the file system. But it seems the file is screwed.

  • Zotero doesn't modify PDFs that it downloads. If I understand correctly, this sounds as if the document uses a non-standard English font for which Chrome has a mapping, but you desktop PDF client does not.

If you download the document normally, without relying on Zotero, are you able to view the PDF locally?
  • You are right. PDF Expert can’t pick up Chinese font. So chrome did a fantastic job in font
