Zotero damage a Chinese PDF paper

I donwloaded a paper from http://www.cnki.com.cn/Article/CJFDTotal-WJFZ200808012.htm. When I view the document in Zotero, I found out the alphabets (not Mandarin) are screwed or invisible.

Chrome is able to preview the PDF document without a problem. And I also tried to open the PDF from the file system. But it seems the file is screwed.

    Zotero doesn't modify PDFs that it downloads. If I understand correctly, this sounds as if the document uses a non-standard English font for which Chrome has a mapping, but you desktop PDF client does not.

    If you download the document normally, without relying on Zotero, are you able to view the PDF locally?

    You are right. PDF Expert can’t pick up Chinese font. So chrome did a fantastic job in font
