syncing error

zotero can't seem to sync. from report errors in the gear menu:

any idea what's wrong?

    You could try waiting for the next beta, which should be available shortly, but you may ultimately need to use Reset to Server in the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero preferences.

    i tried that as well but i still can't sync

    Can you provide a Report ID for when you try Reset to Server?

    This may be fixed already, but if you send debug output for the sync attempt to support@zot....org, referencing this thread, we can take a look. (If you have a lot of items, there may be quite a bit of debug output.)

    i'm using ubuntu but haven't quite mastered the command line yet. how do i pipe the debug output to a file because it's too much to fit on a terminal?

    by the way what does the 2 before the > do? i noticed that without the 2, it wasn't logging properly

    The 2 refers to stderr. Without the 2, only stdout is redirected to the file.

    i am still unable to sync. i get the following error when from "report errors..." in the actions menu

    i even tried backing up my zotero library, deleting the library from my firefox profile, reinstalling zotero, and pasting my library back in. when i reopened zotero after deleting the library, it was able to sync, which means that it is something specific to my library that is causing the problem. but i have almost 200 items so i don't really want to go through them one by one to see which one is the problem.

    any ideas? i'd really like to get sync working as this is probably the main reason i'm interested in zotero

    i also just tried restoring to server but couldn't. sent the error report. id: 1189804415. it said something about an invalid session ID
