Change request in Cell's citation

When i use Cell's style and insert multiple items the references should be in alphabetic order (something like this: Dragunow, 2000; Finkbeiner et al., 1997; Zhao et al., 2005)

Another thing: in the reference list, there is no dot after the last abbreviated item in the journal's name, e.g. Neurosci. Lett 332, 65-69. instead of Neurosci. Lett. 332, 65-69.

    Do you have any editorial instruction to do either of these? Neither rule is listed at:

    Further: the second issue you raised is contrary to what appears in print, e.g.:

    I don't have editorial instruction but every time when i write something i have to follow Cell's style. I downloaded several Cell papers and all of them follow the above mentioned rules. The guide for authors on Cell's web page is not so detailed with just very few examples so i think that's why it's not so clear.

    The article I linked to was the first subscription-free article I found & it does not follow your second recommendation (it does follow the first).

    Thanks! I had a look and they do follow the second rule as well. I copied few examples:

    J. Exp. Med. 147, 1526-1531.
    Nat. Biotechnol. 22, 411-417.
    Ann. N Y Acad. Sci. 938, 72-81.

    When they don't abbreviate the journal's name they don't put dot:

    Cell 44, 653-662.
    Nature 449, 238-242.

    Sorry i guess the official name is period or full stop instead of dot... :)

    Zotero and the cell.csl style do exactly this. Is the abbreviated name in your database wrong?

    I capture the information from Pubmed. It adds the Journal abbreviation to my Zotero library. It adds the title abbreviation like: Eur J Neurosci and it does not add the ISO abbreviation: Eur. J. Neurosci.

    If i correct my library to ISO abbreviation it inserts the citation in a correct format.

    I guess that can be the problem.
