webdav sync error -6

I'm trying to sync docs via my website, which has webdav enabled and a 'zotero' directory in place. When I hit 'verify server' I get an alert saying: Error: - 6. (minus 6?)

My webhost is usually very helpful but I'd like to know what the error means before asking for support.

Edit: I'm using 2.04b.
