making a reference style for Genetics

I'm trying to make a reference style for the journal Genetics, and I've encountered two pitfalls which I don't know how to solve yet...

1) The authors names are meant to be entirely in capital letters. The first letter is meant to be a regular capital letter; and all subsequent letters are supposed to be capitals, but 3pt smaller than normal.

2) The first author on a publication is listed LastName, FirstName, and all the other authors are listed FirstName LastName.

How does one accomplish these things in CSL?
  • 1) you need small-caps

    2) read the documentation ;-)
  • Hi Loso,

I work for Genetics and have been asked to look into creating a reference style for the journal. I'm not sure if you created the style yet, but I'd be interested in collaborating with you so that we can submit the style to the repository.

    Thank you in advance.
  • @rain: if you don't hear from loso, at this point, it's often better to find an existing style in the repository, and modify that.
  • @bdarcus thank you. I had started to do that in March and if I don't receive a response I'll probably continue...
  • Has this style been made yet? If someone has it (and it's working or even close to working) can you send it to me?

If not, I'd be interested in helping to make it.
  • If it's not here nor in the repository, I suggest you start making it.
How comfortable are you in trying to write the style in csl/xml?
It's relatively easy and I like to encourage people to try it.
If this seems too daunting, you can still contribute, by thoroughly collecting and presenting the information specified on the requesting styles page
    http://www.zotero.org/support/requesting_styles
and someone else here will do the actual coding.
